What is the SDN List?

OFAC Attorney: The SDN list stands for the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list. It is a list maintained by OFAC that publicly identifies persons determined by the U.S. government to be involved in activities that threaten or undermine U.S. foreign policy or national security objectives. Individuals, entities, vessels, governments, and organizations can all appear on the list pursuant to the various sanctions programs that are administered by OFAC.
